Winter Portraits: Capturing Family Joy in the First Snowfall

Excerpt

Flintstone, MD—Winter is here and so is the snow!  For our family that means getting snowed in at the family farm in Western Maryland.  With a nice layer of snow and no sign of it stopping, my niece and I headed out to the far corners of the farm to get some snowy portraits.

In my family, there are 8 cousins and Evey is the only girl.   Because of this, her aunts spoil her rotten.  She is one of the sweetest young ladies I know, and her youthful enthusiasm is contagious.  Evey is artistic, funny, caring, playful, and an absolute natural when it comes to posing.  I didn’t have to direct her at all, she just knew what to do.

We hopped in the Wrangler on this winter afternoon in January and made our way to some of our favorite locations around the property.  While the snow made for an extended editing process since I had to remove all of the snow covering her face, it was worth it to capture these amazing portraits.  We will cherish this first snow session forever.

Thanks for giving me the chance to capture some memories on the farm.  Even though we were freezing and we slid a little on that one hill!  It was so much fun.  Your fresh-faced beauty is inspiring.
